Susan Schmidt's art is bold, bright and contemporary. Primary and secondary colours in every hue, impasted, textured, stenciled and layered in rich glazes on the canvas to create refreshing and individual works.
"My aim is to capture a moment, whether a shaft of light or a glint in an eye. To sense the underlying spirit of my subject and with layering and texturing create a vitality and share the moment with my viewer. When I paint it is total reverie, I am one with my subject."
Susan's works are represented in public and private collections in Australia and overseas.
